NATIONAL TRUST

Batemans is a stunning local Jacobean house and gardens, and once the home of Rudyard Kipling.  The interior is still filled with Kipling’s collections and most of the rooms are as Kipling left them, including his book-lined study.

Today, you can explore the house and large gardens that inspired Kipling’s writing, and then indulge in an afternoon tea at the Mulberry tearooms.
